Selected details and pages of the handmade artist book entitled "1/1" which was on display during the exhibition of the same name - “1/1” - at Galerie S. from 1st Febraury until March 17th, 2025.

Continuing the themes of demolition/destruction and reconstruction of the frame begun decades prior, this handmade artist book is:

28 pages hand stitched and bound together with vintage waxed cord -

Hand scratched stainless steel and treated covers with pale grey painted canvass spine.
Handwritten inner cover, signed and numbered (1/1) colophon attached to steel back-cover plate.

Materials: Silver gelatin fibre based prints as well as a few hand printed chromogenic (C-type) prints, torn or full frame.

The book is predominantly collage constituted out of silver gelatin fibre based prints as well as a few hand printed chromogenic (C-type) prints from over 20 years ago.
Presented here in a book format sequence that follows its own (i)logic as either torn or full frame, ripped, exploded, damaged, stained or altered chemically printed matter that is placed over large folded print outs (the page foundations) of much older collage works of mine - layers of time over (and under) time, like stratum. Layers of torn visions/glimpses/captures - flash-back continuums, aching absences, demolition and reconstruction like smashed-in and re-fictionalised memory. The same entropic surge and undercurrent running through it all.

This handmade artist book was on display in the gallery during the exhbition “1/1” and could be viewed interrelating and in dialogue with the rest of the works on the wall - glass, hand scratched steel, copper, fibre based papers, and collage.
